As usual, no one in govt will be looking into the chaotic care system and addressing the massive inefficiencies of carers spending more time driving between clients rather than actually with them.
Instead, they will simply use the hammer of more tax rises to paper over it.
One example. After my mum with dementia had been discharged from hospital and left bed bound due to their ‘care’ (she had walked in). The NHS initially paid for her home carers.
I then had a 2 hour phone conversation with 4 separate agencies at the same time for what the council bloke told me was a 99% certainty that the NHS would cease funding her care and it would fall upon the local council.
In other words 4 x 2 hours so a whole working day’s public sector salary waste of time for a foregone conclusion.
Then there was the state funded charity conversation to simply tell me how to claim attendance allowance for mum rather than them just issuing it.
It’s a total industry drowning in waste.
Before another penny is stolen from the taxpayer, sort it out first.
