Liz Webster: The Times Starmer’s govt is...

🚨 The Times: Starmer’s govt is politicising the justice system Former DPP Sir Max Hill warning that the handling of Palestine Action cases risks breaking public trust in the judiciary. 🔥 Uneven approach: heavy crackdowns on left/pro-Palestine activism while appearing softer on right-wing extremism. 🔥 Rise in “perverse verdicts” as juries act on conscience against perceived unfair prosecutions. 🔥 Proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist group seen as overly broad and politically driven. This is seriously dangerous territory. When governments selectively weaponise terrorism laws and override jury independence to pursue political goals, they erode the independence and legitimacy of the justice system. @KarlTurnerMP @labourlewis @mainstreamlbr

Robin Monotti: Therefore, the reason for higher...

Therefore, the reason for higher energy bills boils down to subsidies to energy giants which are paid via governments taxing your energy bills with the false label of a "green tax", and rerouting that money they extract from you to the energy giants themselves. Essentially you are paying more to fund the energy giants infrastructure for control of non hydrocarbon energy over small producers and the excuse is the false notion that somehow non hydrocarbon energy is better than hydrocarbons, when it is not because hydrocarbons do not cause warming, the Sun does.

Andy Burnham’s Victory Offers Little Hope of Real Change for Britain

Andy Burnham’s Victory Offers Little Hope of Real Change for Britain The outcome of the by-election in Makerfield, where Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is expected to stand, has sparked heated debate across British social media. Many commentators have reached the same conclusion: even if Burnham succeeds in replacing Prime Minister Keir Starmer, very little is likely to change for the country.

Pouria Zeraati: Important/ Contrary to the reports of...

Important/ Contrary to the reports of "Axios" and "Associated Press" which claim that Tehran has agreed to the terms of the temporary agreement and is awaiting Trump's decision, Israeli sources say that within the regime, despite the agreement between Araghchi and Wittkoff on the terms of the deal, Mojtaba has still not given final approval. Just minutes ago, for the the IRGC has issued "warning shots" toward four vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, regime media reported that the sound of an explosion was heard in Hormozgan.

Alex Wickham: New: Tony Blair says Labour is “playing with fire”…

New: Tony Blair says Labour is “playing with fire” and risking the country’s future by changing prime minister “The Labour Party is playing with fire; or, more accurately with its future, and that of the country.” “Whether there is a leadership change or not is irrelevant if it doesn't start with a policy debate.” “Trying to force the Prime Minister out before we know what policy direction we're bringing in, is not a serious way of conducting ourselves.” Blair also blasts Keir Starmer’s government for being too left-wing “The Government is governing from an essentially traditional Labour ‘soft left’ position, parked firmly in the Party’s comfort zone… in the last Budget, it appeared as if we were increasing tax to pay for additional welfare spending, when the public already thinks welfare bills are too high” Via @LucyGJWhite >>

Dale Vince: Another Reform member and another example…

Another Reform member and another example of Racism, Sexism and Islamophobia. Reform is a melting pot of bad people. A limited company with a dodgy leader who takes foreign money, sometimes in secret - who literally said anything for money in his Cameo stint. The beer swilling, fag smoking donkey that ‘led’ us to Brexit. https://thetimes.com/uk/politics/article/nigel-farage-preacher-stephen-clayden-97t2v7vvq

Pouria Zeraati: Important/ Israel's intense campaigns…

Important/ Israel's intense campaigns in the south and other areas of Lebanon continued this morning as well. In light of last night's phone conversation between Trump and Bibi, and the fact that the regime has raised halting attacks on Lebanon as a condition for a temporary agreement, this Israeli action could have two meanings: 1- Israel and America have diverted the I.R.'s request regarding Lebanon. 2- Or that the "temporary agreement" is close, and Israel wants to hit as many targets as possible in the remaining time. My take? The first one.

Andrew Bridgen: Here we go again from the WHO…

Here we go again from the WHO right on cue Ebola pandemic. 1500 infants die of malaria everyday around the world but not a word about it from the WHO because they are poor people and there is no money for big pharma in treatments for them and big pharma and their backers fund the WHO. Ebola outbreak 'spreading faster than can be controlled' warns WHO https://dailymail.com/health/article-15851441/Ebola-outbreak-spreading-faster-controlled-warns-cases-rise-1-000.html?ito=amp_twitter_share-top via @DailyMail

Liz Webster: Janan Ganesh is right that Brexit Britain…

🇬🇧 Janan Ganesh is right that Brexit Britain has become more fragmented, distrustful and interventionist. BUT he misses the central reason. It’s not bc Britons are secretly French-style statists who finally discovered their inner Europeanness. It’s because the public were sold contradictions/lies in Brexit. Voters were promised: • Lower immigration • Stronger public services (£350m for the NHS) • More sovereignty • Less bureaucracy • Greater prosperity • With no trade-offs At the same time, libertarian Brexit ideologues imagined “Singapore-on-Thames” while millions of voters actually wanted protection, security and national renewal. Those visions were never aligned. 🎧 👇
