He served as a Conservative MP from 2010 to 2023, when he was expelled from the party for comparing COVID-19 vaccine policies to the Holocaust. He now sits as an independent MP and has joined the right-wing Reclaim Party. He is known for his strong criticism of government pandemic measures, mainstream media, and the political establishment.

Andrew Bridgen: I believe Nigel Farage is calling a snap by election...

I believe Nigel Farage is calling a snap by election because he has an embargoed copy of the standards report that will be made public next week ( it must be bad ) Farage knows the report will cause the Standards Committee to suspend him from the House for more than 10 days triggering a recall petition in the Autumn., where 10% of his electorate signing up for a recall will trigger a by election in his seat. He wants a by election now on his terms to reduce the appetite in Clacton to sign his recall petition which will come from the standards investigation into his £5m gift from Harborne However the main political parties won’t play his game and have declined to stand candidates as they will wait for the second by election in the Autumn. Farage’s plan could well back fire on him- He will be standing against Bin-Face and the Monster Raving Looney Party There will be another by election in Clacton before Christmas. I also believe there will be further damaging disclosures this Summer regarding Farage and Reform involved in ‘financial irregularities’. The question is not only can Reform survive without Farage ?
