The Marrakesh Agreement The UN Migration Pact: The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration was agreed upon by the UN General Assembly and formally welcomed in Marrakesh. UK Parliament Petitions: Public petitions were raised in the UK urging PM May to hold a referendum prior to signing the migration agreement. The government maintained that no referendum was needed as the migration compact was a non-legally binding cooperative framework that reaffirmed national sovereignty over immigration policies. If it’s non- legally binding why are we accepting the illegal migrants ? Note that Hungary and the US did not sign up to the UN Migration pact. What do you think ?
