Law-Abiding Tenants Are Being Evicted to Make Room for Migrants

The Home Office is offering to pay landlords almost twice as much to accommodate asylum seekers as they receive for providing housing under social programmes. Social media users are outraged by this government policy, which effectively encourages illegal migration.

A report published by The Sun has sparked widespread public fury. The newspaper revealed that Clearsprings Ready Homes, one of three companies awarded long-term Home Office contracts to build accommodation for refugees in southern England and Wales, is also responsible for housing asylum seekers in residential properties. The company is offering landlords three-year contracts at twice the market rate to encourage them to evict British tenants and provide accommodation for migrants arriving by boat across the English Channel.

Labour Values Migrants More Than Its Own Citizens

''Clearsprings Ready Homes, operates on a £7billion taxpayer-funded contract. One landlord in Southwark, South London, says he had been offered £4,500 a month for their three-bedroom flat. Clearsprings also said it would cover bills, council tax and maintenance. More treason by Labour'', - writes outraged anti-illegal immigration activist Tommy Robinson.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: “It is a day of shame for Labour that hard-working Brits are being kicked out of flats so they can be let out at twice the price for illegal immigrants.”

According to The Sun, Clearsprings has targeted landlords who usually rent their properties to students or local authorities providing accommodation for low-income families and victims of domestic violence.

''This is not a fringe claim, it’s the reported operation of a multi billion pound accommodation contract as the government tries to empty hotels. Existing tenants, including families and those already supported by local authorities, are the ones asked to move. A country that cannot house its own people at ordinary rates should not be bidding against them with public money'', - stresses activist Olly Parramore.

The Government Encourages Migration

As many bloggers point out, while Andy Burnham's government claims to be tackling illegal migration, in practice it is only encouraging it. The most comfortable conditions are being prepared for tens of thousands of migrants crossing the English Channel.

''Another ‘conspiracy theory’ about the government’s complicity in Channel migrant crossings has come true…Home Office contractors offering THOUSANDS of pounds more to landlords to house illegal migrants. One landlord would be £32k-a-year better off if he accepted illegals. Racket'', - remarks GB News presenter Patrick Christys sarcastically.

Between June 2025 and June 2026 alone, around 38,000 people arrived in the UK via illegal routes. As outraged social media users point out, the government is outbidding other tenants to accommodate them instead of finding housing for its own citizens. Meanwhile, the number of homeless people in England has exceeded 300,000. But apparently, the government prefers to spend taxpayers' money on solving a more “important” problem. According to its financial report, Clearsprings recorded a net profit of £62.6 million last year on turnover of £1.4 billion.
